Adrenal gland function
Make it clearer
The adrenal cortex, the outer layer of the adrenal gland, is a factory for three products: aldosterone, cortisol, and androgens. And it doesn't make them all jumbled together: each one comes out of a different functional zone of that same cortex, like a building where every floor assembles something different even though they all share one facade.
The adrenal medulla, the inner part, takes no part in that. It secretes catecholamines, meaning it releases them into the body, and they belong to a different family of substances from the ones the cortex produces.
In brief
The adrenal cortex produces aldosterone, cortisol, and androgens in separate functional zones.
The adrenal medulla secretes catecholamines.
