Hypoglycemia
Make it clearer
Hypoglycemia means that blood glucose has fallen below what is healthy for that person. Picture a gauge dropping until it crosses the edge of its healthy range.
Signs and symptoms often begin quickly and are not the same for everyone. If glucose drops too low, the brain may stop working properly.
In brief
Hypoglycemia occurs when the glucose circulating in the blood falls below the level that is healthy for that person. It can be pictured as a gauge dropping past the boundary of its healthy range.
Its signs and symptoms usually begin quickly and can vary from one person to another, so they may not appear the same way in everyone.
If glucose falls too far, the brain may stop working properly; this is one effect of an excessive drop.
