Eye function
Make it clearer
Eye function begins with the cornea and lens working together to focus light on the retina. Picture adjusting a lens until the light lands on the right receiving surface.
The retina contains photoreceptors, cells that respond to light. When light reaches them, these cells convert it into electrical signals. The sequence is straightforward: light is focused first, then transformed into a signal.
In brief
The cornea and lens work together to focus light properly on the retina. This is the basic optical stage of eye function.
Once light reaches the retina, photoreceptors convert it into electrical signals. The basic sequence moves from focusing light to transforming that light into a signal.
